Introducing our 2025 theme...
How exciting, as Father has given us the opportunity to stand at the starting line of a new year, a fresh start, new beginnings, new challenges, new adventures all of which are covered within His new mercies each and every day. As we start a new year —2025— I continue to be humbled to be your Pastor and Shepherd here at Summit. I cannot wait to see what Father has for us this year!
As I began to pray over what our theme would be for the new year, it finally became clear as I was away for a retreat in North Georgia; I absolutely love the mountains, they are always a huge time of refreshment for me. As I often say, there is a lot happening all around us each day. So much happened in 2024, things to bring us joy as well as sadness globally, nationally, and in our own communities and homes. Including within our Faith Family here at Summit. But as I talked with Father about the new year, how I could encourage you, and how we as a Faith Family could encourage one another, and those we come in contact with each day, the thought of staying the course came to mind, to simply Press On!
We do not know exactly what we will encounter this year, what is over the proverbial horizon, or around the corner, but what we do know is that we are called to, encouraged to, keep our eyes focused on the goal, the prize, living strong for the Kingdom. Each day endeavoring, aiming for the upward call of Christ Jesus. Each day, walking in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Phil.1:27) that we responded to, offering our lives as a living sacrifice (Rom.12:1) each moment day by day.
There will be joy, hardship, excitement, and disappointment in 2025, but we are to keep our eyes on Jesus, in the midst of the joy and excitement, the hardship and disappointment. We are to Press On knowing Jesus is with us leading the way! I do not know about you but for me that is extremely comforting lying down each night and getting up in the morning, if Father so chooses to offer me another day here, knowing either way whatever happens, Jesus is with me. (Ps.23)
Summit, as we enter this new year, will you join me in committing to “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” I am here for you, and praying for you, I love you all.
I hope you enjoy as we hear from different members of the Summit family. I know you will be blessed by each piece that has been summited as you pray over and read through each one.
